ICD-10 Coding Update: Are You Ready for the Changes?

Program Summary   

The FREEZE is over and the ICD-10-CM Committee has been busy adding and deleting codes, revising instructions and guidelines. This webinar will give you the knowledge needed to apply the numerous coding updates and revisions, recognize potential documentation needs, and understand the code change rationale. Be ready by October 1, 2017, for the mandated code updates of thousands of FY 2018 ICD-10-CM codes.

 As a bonus, get an update on the AHA Coding Clinic guidance and get answers to the most frequently asked questions. Lisa will also provide an overview of the proposed changes in the Home Health Grouping Model slated for commencement in 2019.

Who Should Attend:  Home Health Nurses, Therapists, Clinical Supervisors, Administrators, Financial Managers, and Quality Improvement & Billing Staff who are experienced with ICD-CM coding.

Presenters: Lisa Selman-Holman, JD, BSN, RN, HCS-D, COS-C, HCS-O, is a home care veteran with 30 years spent in home health & hospice, both as an RN and as an attorney practicing exclusively in home care.  She is the owner of Selman-Holman & Associates, LLC, a full-service home care consulting firm; CoDR-Coding Done Right, a coding outsource and audit company; and CodePro University, online coding and OASIS education.  Lisa is the chair of the Homecare Coding Specialist-Diagnosis (HCSD), Homecare Clinical Specialist-OASIS (HCS-O) and the new Homecare Coding Specialist-Hospice (HCS-H) national advisory boards for the Board of Medical Specialty Coding and Compliance (BMSCC), and is a BMSCC-approved educator.  She is an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM Trainer.  Lisa has no conflict of interest in regard to this program.
