CCBC Update

CCBC supports the delivery of community based care through promotion of research-based practice, public awareness, and consumer education.

CCBC Focuses on Consumer Awareness and Caregiver Support

OCHCH has done much to increase awareness of the benefits of home care and hospice amongst policy makers, leading to a rebalancing of care from institutional into the community-based setting. However that awareness has yet to fully translate to consumers, our potential patients and families. As such, CCBC has chosen to refocus their efforts towards bridging that gap, to aid consumer awareness/education and provide caregiver support/training.

CCBC Website

The CCBC website ( is the hub for these efforts, whereby we provide patients and families with a wealth of information on home care and hospice, and direct them to helpful resources. We’ve partnered with AARP Ohio, the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging (o4a), and the Ohio Association of Senior Centers to further these consumer awareness and caregiver support efforts. The CCBC website is a helpful resource for patients and families, and will become increasingly so as we work with these partner organizations.

Grants, advertising, donations, and other funding sources will be used to drive CCBC’s efforts. Most consumers have limited understanding of home care and hospice until faced with a family crisis, and thus our goal is to help them comprehend the benefits for patients and families.
