Help Pack the Statehouse on April 2nd!

Join OCHCH and other home care and hospice leaders on Tuesday, April 2nd for Advocacy Day at the Statehouse. This is the time to share your experiences and your struggles with your legislators.

“This is our opportunity to express our concerns, issues, and vision to each of our elected representatives. This face to face contact with our Senators and Representatives is the best, most effective way to convey our message,” explained OCHCH Board President Michael Vallee, JD, CEO at Your Choice Health Care Group, which serves individuals and families in southeast Ohio.

The event will be held in the Ohio Statehouse Atrium. Registration begins at 9 am. Various legislators will attend from 10 am until noon to meet with their constituents and hear your stories. The new Ohio Department of Medicaid Director, Maureen Corcoran will provide the keynote presentation. The new Ohio Department of Aging Director, Ursel McElroy will also be speaking.

OCHCH Executive Director, Joe Russell discussed the importance of agency leaders sharing their experiences. “We’re going to be asking for higher reimbursement rates, and we need people to come tell their stories about how poor reimbursement is impacting their business,” state Russell.

Russell added, “Advocacy complements our professional lobby efforts by letting legislators know how policy issues impact their constituents.”

“I encourage all employees, managers, and owners working in healthcare at home to join us at the Statehouse on April 2nd,” added Vallee.

Our industry is growing. Now is the perfect time to join the fight for higher reimbursement rates and lower regulations. There is strength in numbers. Help us pack the Statehouse Atrium and send a strong message to our legislators!
